What is Coaching?
Coaching is a one-to-one/one-on-one relationship in which a coach:

  • Helps clients to set and reach professional goals.
  • Encourages clients to do more than they would have done on their own.
  • Provides the structure and support to accomplish more.
  • Helps clients stay tightly focused on the goal.
  • A coach is an accountability partner!

Who hires a coach and why?
Many different people hire coaches for a variety of reasons:

  • They want more satisfaction or meaning in their lives.
  • They want to grow professionally or personally.
  • They want to accomplish these things without a struggle.

What positive things happen when you hire a coach?

  • You stop putting things off and you stop putting up with things.
  • You create better and more achievable goals.
  • You overcome inertia and generate momentum!
  • You begin to take action immediately.

Why does coaching work?

  • Clients develop new skills that enable them to accomplish more.
  • Clients discover core values that make setting priorities easier.
  • Clients set goals that are meaningful and motivating.
  • Accountability adds to motivation!
  • Regular contact with the coach keeps the momentum going.

How does coaching work?

  • Most coaches ask for a minimum three-month commitment, but will let you quit immediately if coaching isn't working for you now.
  • Many coaches prefer weekly sessions (often 30 minutes) to sustain progress.
  • Sessions can be conducted in person or by phone (initial meeting preferably in person).
  • Many coaches offer phone or email contact between sessions.
  • The client identifies areas to be worked on, and the coach provides the structure.
  • Coaches give "field work," action steps for clients to take between sessions.

What about fees?

  • Fees vary from coach to coach depending on the length and number of sessions and the services between sessions. Please call or e-mail for specific information.
