Namesta fellow homo sapiens-sapiens,
Welcome to
the energetic frequency of Gemini, a masculine Air sign. During Gemini
time we reorient, in Aries and Taurus we focus on self – on our own
aspirations and our own desires – in Gemini we shift our focus to accommodate
others in our world. Sapient means “having great wisdom and discernment,” as
sapiens-sapiens we aspire to be ‘doubly wise.
The Story: the
archetype of Gemini is the Storyteller and Gemini wants a GOOD story; the Personal
Yearly Cycle was probably developed by a Gemini in search of an
organizing principle to contain her or his kaleidoscope of stories. And as
Albert Einstein wrote, “The
gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing knowledge,”
so let’s get creative about the stories we write for ourselves.
Muriel Rukeyser writes, “The
universe is made of stories, not atoms.”
So what’s our current story? Does it need updating? Editing? Expansion
or contraction? What we can learn from the Gemini frequency: “Life is
an experiment to discover what is possible,”
writes Margaret Wheatley – and it begins with ‘the story.’ Does your
story put a smile or a frown on your face? Make your heart sing or cry? Does
your dance fill you with Joy? Whenever we find ourselves in a
funk it’s an invitation to write a new story and learn a new dance! Webster defines Disaster
thus, “against - or apart from - the stars” and the flower Aster gets its name
from the Latin astrum; I often use that to center myself…
Gemini is
also the sign of the twins and relationships, the twins signify the tension of
polarity in life which we tend to see as duality: dark-light,
male-female, up-down, in-out, good-bad, etc., and our need for both autonomy
and belonging. On a spiritual level, polarity point us to the Hermetic
law of Attraction, Reciprocity, and Circulation:
“As Above so Below ~ As Within
so Without.” ~ Relationships, alerts us
to the importance of how we relate to these polarities. Nowhere is that more evident than in the
house where your Gemini resides – so look at your chart, do you have a current
good story to inspire your focus and attention relating to those issues? If
not, it’s time to create one! ~

The Dance:
The world becomes a kaleidoscope of input and a treasure chest of playthings. For Gemini, variety
is truly the spice of life. And it is through this continual stimulation that
we develop consciousness.
In
“Riches Within Your Reach" Robert Collier writes, “there is one quality
that one must develop to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the
knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to create it."
As you often hear me say, “Life? It’s all a matter of
Story,” because our story determines our dance! So how do you like to dance: Tango, Rumba, Waltzes, Quickstep,
Rock & Roll, the Texas Two-Step? Gemini yearns for unity and
therefore in Gemini we seek the common denominator between our many stories or
as Gregory Bateson taught, “learn to see the pattern that connect.” Create your
story, the one that fits your unique genius, so you can dance joyfully which is
Life’s intent for you.
Gemini,
like “The Wizard of OZ,” invites you to put on Dorothy’s ruby-red shoes, join Scarecrow’s quest for
an empowering brain, Tin
Man’s longing for a joyful heart,
Lion’s desire for courage, and dance
the Yellow
Brick Road to the Emerald City and
discover the Rainbow bridge to your
way home to yourself.

in Gemini June 6 ~
&
Practice: play with your breathing while in
the air-sign of Gemini, imagine breathing in the colors of the colors of
the Rainbow, feel the breath in your whole body, and honor
your breath release ‘what no longer serves you’ on your out-breath.
Goddess of the Month: Usume,
is the Japanese Shinto
goddess of joy and happiness, called the Daughter of Heaven and Heaven's
Forthright Female. Her name means "whirling". She is the goddess of
good health, which people obtain from drinking the blessed water of her stream.
When the sun goddess Amaterasu had hidden herself in a cave, thus covering the earth in darkness and infertility, it was
Uzume who brought her back. With her provoking curlew dances she made the gods
laugh so hard, that Amaterasu left the cave intrigued. Her emerging brought
light and life back to earth. Her brother Ninigi married Uzume to the deity who
guards the Floating Bridge to Heaven. ~ The dances of Uzume are found in
folk rites, such as the one to wake the dead, the Kagura, a dance-mime, and a
dance, which symbolizes the planting of seeds. Paracelsus’
Doctrine of Signatures, “Everything is written everywhere, if we have but the eyes to see &
the ears to hear! ~ “The Universe is Talking to us! ~ Are we Listening? ~ Do
we Understand what we Hear?”
